How to fix common spotify errors

Spotify Premium APK is one of the widely used free music streaming service, So we are going to discuss about common spotify errors in comparison to its competitors, like Soundcloud and Apple music which have almost more than 13 million active users.

As the competition is increasing Spotify, product road map feature is growing and available with every new release. As the user base is huge with users have different IOS and Android version. So the testing scope is very wide and sometimes few issues get overlooked during alpha or beta testing.
Most of the time these issues, glitches or showstoppers have some workarounds and you can resolve them. We have shared below a few solutions to this problem.

Note: If the problem still persists and you find the same problem on the devices than you need to contact Spotify support, maybe they can provide you some workaround, solution or release plan for these issues.

Cannot Add Local Files to a Playlist ?

One feature that makes Spotify fantastic is its ability to add your locally saved music into the desktop client. This gives you privilege to enjoy Spotify tracks with your own tracks in playlists, and you can listen to them from anywhere.

In Spotify recent release version, they have changed how Mac and Windows clients handle local music. In previous, versions you can drag-and-drop files into a playlist, but now this feature is changed and this made some users think that the service was broken and try to report spotify error.
To add files follow these steps

  1. Navigate to Edit (Windows) or Spotify (Mac) > Preferences > Local Files.
  2. You can point the direction of your saved files or you can ask Spotify to search your iTunes files or your Music Library.

Cannot Download Songs for Spotify Offline Playback

If you are on a long drive with low internet coverage and missing romantic music, or you are at a gym and want to listen to your own beats, Spotify play offline and save your mobile data.

In order to maintain performance, there is a known limitation of for listening to offline maximum 3,333 songs. If you have reached that limit, now you have to remove few tracks from your list until then you won't be able to download any more tracks.

For the fastest resolution, you should delete cache although toggling a playlist Available Offline switch will slowly delete its content.

Cannot Add More Tracks to Your Music

It is wise to filter out your music library on and off so that the list size does not reach the maximum limit of 10000. When you eventually reach the limit, throwing your curated library into disarray is the only option.

As this feature does not bother lots of users, so Spotify product owner has not yet prioritized to increase the threshold limit as it might create a performance issue for a few devices.

However, there is an easy and best workaround by creating multiple libraries and adding these into a single playlist folder.

  1. Create a new playlist "Library" and add your music in it.
  2. When it reaches the threshold of 10,000 create a new library 2 and so on
  3. Add all of these libraries into a single playlist folder (File > New Playlist Folder), and highlight the folder to see all the music within in.

Spotify problem on Android

Like most of the Android applications start working just by closing and re-launching app or just by logging out and logging back in the app, most of the times smaller issues might get solved. Issues like offline download, playback problems or blank screen-clearing cache and reinstalling may resolve your problem.

Clear Cache and Perform a Clean Install

Like other applications, Spotify also saves data in Cache for faster and efficient performance. Sometimes, due to some operations, cache data gets corrupted and we started experiencing usage problems.

It's always safe to delete cache as when we launch the application it rebuild again.

Just head to Settings > Apps > Spotify > Storage and tap on Clear Cache. You should also tap on Clear Data.
Now we need to check Spotify files have been deleted at the following path. You can navigate to this path in Android file manager.

  • /emulated/0/Android/data/com.spotify.music
  • /ext_sd/Android/data/com.spotify.music
  • /sdcard1/Android/data/com.spotify.music
  • /data/media/0/Android/data/com.spotify.music
If any of the files exists, please delete them manually. If it gives you an error, go and stop Spotify application from the application manager and then delete them manually.

Now you are ready to uninstall Spotify app and reinstall via downloading from Google Play Store.

Performance optimizing apps also kills the process that is running for long in the background and they can also affect Spotify. As may be battery manager or process optimizer can stop Spotify when the screen is off. You can whitelist this Spotify in these apps.

Problems on iPhones and iPads

Apple has own way of thinking, they do not give clear cache option like Android. So it's the individual app to offer a way to clear the cache.

Spotify has not yet added this functionality in their road map for IOS version. So if you are having trouble with Spotify app, you just need to uninstall the app it will clear the cache and now you have to re-install it from apple store. Hopefully, this will solve your problem.
